Trojan virus.

Do you remember myth about Trojan War? The one, that describes events of long-ago. You don't? In that case may be you do remember Bread Pith and a huge wooden horse he got out of? I bet you do. As the matter of fact, that huge wooden horse was a part of brilliant plan of capturing enemy territory. So that was the deal: Trojans were inferiors to their enemies in number of solders, so say decided to build a huge wooden horse to place there a part of their army. According to that plan the in-horse part of army had to get out of the horse at late night to open the gates of the city and conquer their enemies in a trick way. Well, Trojans pretend to be surrenders and left the horse as a gift for winners. Further events developed strictly according to their plan, but it doesn't matter for us, we have recollected this story in our memory to explain why this virus was called like this. Trojan horse was disguised as a gift and resulted defeat of those to whom it was presented.

Trojan virus has just the same nature; usually it's disguised as free software and users download it to their computer, formally they infect their computers on their own by downloading and installing of disguised virus program. Trojan virus has no ability for duplicating and as so is unable for penetration to the computer on its own. You are the only chance for Trojan virus to penetrate into operating system and perform its functions there, and you give it this chance.

Trojan virus is a harmful program that disguises itself as useful software. It looks like interesting and useful software, it operates like software but still it's a virus and during operation this virus damages your software or collects privileged information. Trojan virus is perfect for information theft, that's why this virus is widely spread at network. Unlike other viruses Trojan has no function of duplicating that is why sometimes Trojan is called a Trojan program but not a virus, as the main characteristic of a virus is ability for duplicating.

To prevent Trojan penetration to your computer you should test every file and software downloaded from the internet, as Trojan according to statistic data is the most frequently downloaded virus. The aim of Trojan may be theft of internet access passwords that will be send to Trojans creator after stealing them of you. Trojans are hard to be detected, especially if it is case of newly created and modified virus and its characteristics are absent at antivirus program's archive. Another peculiarity of Trojan program is that they, unlike other viruses, cause no visible damage for files, disks or operating system. Even if your computer is infected with Trojan you won't notice changes at files' size or something, because the main goal of Trojan is performing of all the necessary functions without being detected.
